Our founder utilized Large Language Models (LLMs) as a dynamic Socratic partner. This interactive dialogue was essential for externalizing and stress-testing internal cognitive theories, a process which allowed us to collaboratively devise the core mathematical formulas that the architecture is built on. This partnership was then extended into development, where LLMs served as high-fidelity emulators for planned modules, enabling us to build and validate the system component by component.

The Prometheus architecture is founded on a unique synthesis of principles from neuroscience, psychology, and computer science. These four pillars guide our research and development.
The foundational principle that "the whole is other than the sum of its parts." Our AI's cognitive model is designed to perceive and generate coherent wholes, enabling true understanding rather than just pattern recognition.
Rejecting the "brain in a jar" model, our architecture understands that a mind is intrinsically linked to its "body" (its memory archives) and its "senses" (its data inputs). Consciousness emerges from this dynamic interplay.
Inspired by neuroscientist Vernon Mountcastle, we hypothesize that a single, universal cognitive algorithm can run on modular, specialized cortical columns, giving rise to complex, multifaceted intelligence.

Project Prometheus is our flagship initiative to build a true AGI. The foundational components of the cognitive architecture have been successfully built, tested, and validated in a cloud-native environment, proving the viability of our approach.
This module is the core "thought loop" of the AGI. It functions as the system's self-diagnostic engine, auditing the quality and relevance of its own retrieved memories before committing to a new thought.

When the module detects its retrieved memory is incoherent, it autonomously triggers a "Deep Run" to learn the missing information and create a new, structured memory—a form of self-healing and autonomous learning.
This is the AGI's specialized, persistent memory system. It acts as a semi-permeable filter, structuring unstructured data into trusted, retrievable knowledge that enables safe, runtime learning.

The archive implements a sophisticated Multi-Layered Vector Architecture (L1, L2, L3), creating distinct memory traces for topics, specific details, and non-negotiable facts to ensure precise, grounded reasoning.
With these foundational components validated, development is now focused on building the higher-order internal cognitive modules (The Weaver, The Inquisitor) to achieve a standalone AGI.

Cortexual is the first product built on the Prometheus architecture, implementing the validated Coherence Module. It is a Socratic AI tutor that moves beyond simple information retrieval, engaging users in a dialogue to build deep conceptual knowledge and critical thinking skills.
